As a hometown girl who takes pride in Santa Maria and is passionate about yoga, I am dedicated to cultivating a yoga community on the Central Coast. Since first being introduced to the practice in 2004, yoga has given me improved health, energy, and peace of mind.
Yoga is a lifelong journey. It is important to remember there is no rush to acheive a certain posture, as you can benefit from yoga at any level. A regular yoga practice offers greater strength, flexibility, and balance, as well as decreased stress and a general sense of well-being.
When one takes time to learn a posture (sometimes months, years, or a lifetime) you allow the pose to teach you many things including; patience, contentment, and the ability to keep a sense of humor. You may also learn about your intentions, different ways to move within your body, or new ways to approach a pose - both physically and mentally.
Some of this a teacher can share with a student, but mostly I hope your yoga practice will guide you to a path of continually evolving self-discovery.
